READING A BOOK

Logging in as a host User:

  • Log in if necessary. Select My Account - Reading Room.
  • When the Reading Room displays you, wait a few seconds for your camera to connect. If the camera does not display your video, right-click the video area and choose Settings from the drop menu. Click the Web Camera button and select your camera from the drop list. Click the Close button.
  • If you get any feedback from your microphone. Right-click the video area and choose Settings. Be prepared that you may get some loud feedback as you adjust this setting. Click the Microphone button and select your Web Camera microphone from the drop-list. Click the Reduce echo button and reduce your volume a bit. Click Close. Other feedback issues may result from speakers to close to the microphone or camera. With some models of Laptop or Notebook computers the built-in cameras sometimes require head sets, as the microphones are too close to the speaker.
  • Click the Connect button which is the small round button in the upper right-corner of the video area. It may take several moments for the connection to establish.
  • Once you can see and hear the other person you are ready to select a book.
  • Click on the book you want to read and click the Read button. It will take a few moments to load the book. The book will automatically load for your Guest.
